The evolution of information and communication technologies (ICTs) online and on smartphones had led to the rapid innovations in mental health care. Technology-based interventions have great potential to promote mental wellness in the older population, especially when face-to-face interactions are restricted, like in the current COVID-19 pandemic. Older adults are at increased risk of severe illness under the pandemic. Prolonged stress and social isolation may also take a toll on their mental wellness. Research findings and practice wisdom support the effectiveness and feasibility of delivering non-pharmacological services through ICTs while retaining interpersonal interaction. The Symposium brings together world-renowned speakers to share the latest development in technological innovations to promote well-being in older adults.
